Our Hotel

The hotel’s past-meets-present spirit is captured in the juxtaposition of its striking exterior, a modern glass skyscraper almost seamlessly joined to the Sanctuary, one of Seattle’s most treasured historic landmarks. From the mind of world-renowned French industrial designer Philippe Starck come signature twists, from windows unexpectedly placed above bathroom sinks to full-length arched mirrors designed to spark a sense of self-reflection.

Not surprisingly, the hotel quickly took its place among the city’s premier hotels, becoming the only West Coast hotel named in the “Best New Hotel” category of USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards and one of just two Seattle hotels to receive the prestigious 2024 MICHELIN Key. The hotel is regularly voted one of the city’s “top hotels” in annual reader surveys in Condé Nast Traveler and Travel + Leisure. If you dream of a Seattle hotel with a view, our downtown jewel’s Elliott Bay vistas won’t disappoint.

An Ode to the Origin
of Seattle

Abstract symbols and playful design elements are found throughout the hotel. Symbolic nods to the Northwest include rustic and timber motifs referencing Seattle’s origin story as a logging town, as well as hallway carpets and light fixtures featuring timber patterns and furnishings - from metal tables to rubbish bins - in the shape of logs. Among the must-sees: the front desk, crafted from a 3,000-year-old Sequoia tree log.
