SELF-GUIDED QR TOUR: HOTEL DESIGN
THE SANCTUARY
Constructed in 1908, The Sanctuary is a Beaux-Arts architectural building, which previously served as the home of Seattle's first congregation, the First United Methodist Church. The historic building was beloved by the community and carefully restored to become a newly renovated venue that now houses the Grand Ballroom, Halo Bar on the Balcony, and Ballroom 1+2. The renovated building preserves traditional pieces of the church such as the pipe organ and beautiful stained-glass windows and the original dome ceiling structure. In 2011, The Sanctuary was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
